Worthing join the race

LONDON SCOTTISH'S unbeaten start to the season was brought to an abrupt end by a Worthing side who demonstrated flair and commitment.

All in all, they dominated most areas of the game with chinks in their game appearing only in their own lineout put-in. Their scrum was pressed hard but stood up well.

London Scottish coach Terry O'Connor acknowledged Worthing superiority on the day but added: "We'll be battling you and Ealing for the top spot for the rest of the season."

Worthing director of rugby Ian Davies was most pleased with the way each man became a "big time" player when he was needed. Unlike some matches in which Worthing played well for just one half, he said: "Today we had a full 80 minutes of good rugby."
