The visitors began the second half with their heavier pack resorting to familiar ten-man Crawley rugby tactics but to no avail since superb defence by David Clarke and Ben Woods enabled Uckfield to re-establish their game plan, and Mark Cullingford on a wide spun ball to the left wing went in for a well-taken try.

Captain Nick Ridley then scored following a blistering run by David Harleyson, and although Uckfield let Crawley in for a couple of easy tries due to rank bad defence they rounded off their win with ten minutes to go when Springbok Albert sprinted down the left wing for the fifth try.
