Two out of two for Findon

FINDON won by seven wickets at Crawley (126) to notch their second maximum-point victory in their two Sussex Invitation Cricket League starts.

Again they won by seven wickets and paceman James Iago knocked over four Crawley wickets for 39. Findon 2nd XI also have a brace of victories.

Broadwater added a draw at Henfield to their opening victory. They posted 220 for seven from 108 for six, with six sixes and 31 fours, adding up to 160 in boundaries. But Henfield closed on 179 for five.

In Division 2, Goring won the toss, asked visitors Arundel to bat, and lost by 98 runs after Matt Sheppard and Gareth Cooke had shared nine wickets in Arundel's dismissal for 152.

In Division 3, relegated Southwick's David Symes took six for 29 at Barns Green to help hustle out Green for 75 and hasten a seven-wicket Southwick victory. Jim Salisbury's four wickets for 40 wrecked Keymer & Hassocks' reply after visiting Clymping set up 200 for seven with 78 from Gareth Challen. But K&H survived to draw with nine wickets down for 113.

Portslade's batting powered them to a 123-run success at home to Scaynes Hill. They were put in, only to make 259 for nine with Ian Morley's 78 and Martin Aylward's 51. Then Alex Smith's four for 22 had Scaynes rotting to 136 all out.

Chippingdale chalked up a second victory to reach 62 points from three matches but Storrington are only two behind from one game fewer. Chipps' Ollie Hall took six for 35 to aid a 79-run victory at Rustington (109) after Andy Baumann's third innings of more than 50 for the winners.

Storrington won by six wickets at home to Eastergate (86 all out) thanks principally to Mike Duddy who collected five Eastergate wickets for 26.
