Town robbed of a point

TOM CALLAGHAN'S 79th-minute strike condemned Steyning Town Football Club to their 10th league defeat of the season on Saturday.

Town only had themselves to blame, after a half-hearted free-kick enabled Chris Stanyard to intercept and play through Callaghan to slot home coolly from 10 yards.

It was Seaford's first goal of 2007, ending a drought that stretched back to the 3-2 defeat of Sidlesham on December 9.

Steyning, however, are yet to score this year. And they never really threatened to break Seaford's back line from open play, partly owing to the whipping winds at The Shooting Field.
