Sussex Sharks in shirt deal for Champions League

THE Sussex Sharks have announced a new shirt sponsorship with one of the world's biggest commercial brands. With the team heading to the sub-continent for the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League, global giant Pepsi has agreed a deal with the Hove outfit to have their name in prime position on the player's shirts.

The TV audience for the event is expected to exceed one billion with cricket mad Indians eagerly anticipating the arrival of the best Twenty20 players on the planet. The lure for the teams couldn't be much bigger with a multi-million dollar prize fund awaiting the winning side.

Chief Executive, Dave Brooks, said: "It's great to have a brand like Pepsi on board. It shows the rest of the world that Sussex County Cricket Club is a very serious player on an international stage. Our performances in both the one day and Twenty20 formats of the game have been sensational this year, and we will travel to India with great confidence that we can compete with the best Club sides in the world."
