In the lull between the Brighton and London Marathons it was a somewhat quieter weekend for Burgess Hill Runners but not without some superb achievements.

Demonstrating a repertoire of skills beyond running, Janet Clapton, Tracy Brownings and David Woodhouse completed the Haywards Heath Supersprint Triathlon. An early start to the day didn’t deter these plucky individuals who quickly polished off a 192m swim, 14km cycle and 1.7km run. Janet finished in a superb 4th place with a total time of 51:47, followed by Tracy in 9th (57:19) and David in 15th (1:00:33).

Meanwhile, Helen and Andy Carr traveled up to Suffolk for the Black Dog Festival of running.

Wearing their club colours with pride, Andy beat his 10k PB with a superb time of 52:25 whilst Helen completed the Half Marathon in 2:25:54, a fantastic effort considering her recent return to running from a broken ankle.
