Sidley return to happy hunting ground

SIDLEY United will be reminded of last season s double winning triumph when they travel to Selsey on Saturday December 15.

United clinched the Sussex title at the High Street Ground after Selsey missed a last gasp penalty in the penultimate game of the 2000/2001 season.

Although Selsey have a 100 per cent home record in the league this year, the visitors have already beaten them on their own turf in the John O Hara League Cup.

Selsey have been boosted by the addition of two new players from Pagham who are suffering an exodus of talent after sacking their manager last week.

Sidley s only absentees are Dave Carey (last week of suspension) and Wayne Farrier (long term injury).

Bexhill Town s new boss Gary Light is hoping to pick up his first points in Division Three when they entertain sixth place Upper Beeding on Saturday.

He saw his team win their first match under his charge when they beat Rye and Iden reserves 2-1 in the Hastings Intermediate Cup.

Light has signed two new players, Scott Defty from Shinewater Association and Mark Downey from Eastbourne Town with the latter unavailable for the Beeding game. The match kicks off at 1.45pm.
