Bognor under-14s and Chichester's under-16 B side both had handsome victories without conceding a point.

Midhurst 0 Bognor 25

Bognor had a flying start in their first league game of the season.

After great early rucking from the forwards, the hoops drove forward beating the scrambling defence for Pat Smart to score in the corner within five minutes.

A similar piece of forward domination quickly followed and the ball was passed out wide with Will Cullen crossing the try line only to have his try disallowed.

From the 22 restart, good chasing from the Bognor pack pressurised the Midhurst defence, leading to the ball being stolen and Luke McClinton scoring the second try. That set the pattern and continued pressure uphill in the second half paid dividends with the team putting together sgood set-pieces.

Other notable performances from forwards Matt Dodd and Liam Cardiff helped to pull the strings for further tries to be run in by backs Will Ford and Will Cullen. Smart rounded the game off with his second.

At sun-drenched Oaklands, Chichester played their brightest rugby of the season and trounced Hastings & Bexhill running in ten tries.

An early try came with full-back Stanley scorching past a panicked defence to pick up a Johnson kick through to score out wide on the left. Shortly afterwards a superb scrum pushed Hastings off their own ball and quick distribution from Collyer and swift passing put Lock in.

Chichester broke the Hastings defensive line again and again through bullocking runs from Furness and Reading. Cox and Stockbridge were everywhere in the loose.

Inness and Elliot benefited from the work of their rampaging back row to score. Half-time arrived with the bonus point already secured.

New recruit Morgan sniped from close range to score on debut and Slade finished off the match with an eye-catching run in from 40m leaving defenders on the floor as he sidestepped through. Five conversions were added by the reliable Johnson.
