Rosemary wins place at HOYS

LOCAL rider Rosemary Shipham, of Ashurst, has recently qualified at the third 2009 South Essex Insurance Brokers Search For A Star Championship, earning her a coveted ticket to the finals at The Horse Of The Year Show.

She qualified at Wellington Equestrian Centre in Hampshire, where there was a strong entry.

Rosemary, a shop assistant at Gatleys Country Store in Storrington, took first place with her nine-year-old skewbald gelding, Fergus VI in the Cob class.

She bought Fergus VI when he was five years old from Gary Keywood and enjoys fun riding and hacking out.

Rosemary has ridden since she was a child but only took up riding seriously when she was 35.
