Point to Point Diary

ANOTHER fine day saw the south-east's fourth fixture of the season take place in optimum conditions at Godstone last week.

It was a day that saw popular champion Carryonharry return to the winner's enclosure after his seasonal debut in the Ladies' Open, and a double for reigning area top jockey Philip Hall.

We were delighted to have a winner when I rode Nathos to victory in the Confined race and also sent out Clover Bay owned by Sarah Dawson to finish second in the Restricted race, absolutely flying up the Godstone hill to finish with a late rattle.

Another Sussex trainer, Marcus Gorman, was third on Old Kilminchy in Nathos's race and David Evatt was second of only two finishers in the Hunt Members on Daretobedifferent, trained by Ian Cobb.
