Our Lady of Sion Year 9 Netball Team wins Area League

THE current Year 9 Netball Team at Our Lady of Sion School ais hoping to follow in the footsteps of the school's previous very successful teams.

It has begun a successful season by winning the Southern Area Partnership League. The team played the semi final game against the Towers School. The game was close, and some errors from the Sion team allowed the opposition to close the score. But Sion just won 10-9.

They tightened their game and went on to beat Davison 15-11 in the final.

They are now due to play Roedean in the second round of the Sussex Knock Out Cup, and they are entered, along with the school's Under 19 team, in the first round of the National Schools Competition.

Jane Baker, Head of PE, at Our lady of Sion said 'The team are extremely determined and are showing tremendous potential. We wish them every success.'

As well as playing at school, the team also plays in the Worthing & District Adult league, which is giving them experience of a different type and level of competition.
