MATT AND LEE HIT DOUBLES AS EP SMASH FIVE

EAST PRESTON are rediscovering the form everyone knows they are capable of and it was a fourth win in six games.

The result never seemed in doubt on Saturday once EP had taken the lead on 20 minutes. Dan McLaughlin's low, driven cross from the left was met by Josh Biggs who tapped the ball in from close-range.

Matt Huckett doubled the lead on 31 minutes when he latched onto brother Mike's through ball to lob the Hailsham keeper. He scored his second four minutes into the second period when he was on hand to strike home from a goalmouth scramble.

From then, it was the Lee Farrell show. Great Britian's hero at the Deaflympics came on five minutes before half-time for McLaughlin and netted a double.

Farrell made it 4-0 on 66 minutes when he beat the offside trap to slot past the Hailsham keeper, and got his double three minutes later when he again raced through to strike home.

Mike Huckett went close to increasing the lead, and Matt Huckett and Farrell both had chances each to complete their hat-tricks.

EP boss Mark Chaplin said: "After we got the first goal, we were playing well and we could easily have scored seven.

"Seb Keet's playing well at the moment, and did a great job, but it was a good all-round team performance.

"Dave Walker also did well playing at centre-half because Chris Yelling was unavailable."

EP are at home to Redhill on Saturday. Yelling is available and McLaughlin should be fit. Defender Andy Appleton is about two weeks away from returning.
