Massive week for Sidley

SIDLEY United go into "a massive week" on two fronts, according to manager Andy Laskey.

The Blues, fourth-from-bottom of Sussex Division One, play host to third-bottom Pagham on Saturday February 12 before taking on local rivals Rye & Iden United in the semi-finals of the John O'Hara League Challenge Cup at Eastbourne Town's Saffrons ground on Wednesday, kick-off 7.45pm.

"Saturday is the bigger one really as far as we're concerned," Laskey said. "If we can get six points from the next two league games (the second is at home to Sidlesham on February 19) it might ease a few nerves. I think if we can cut out basic mistakes and there's no nerves we will be alright."

Top-scorer Keith Miles is unavailable for the next three games, but Steve Morris returns from a one week suspension. Kevin Rose (hamstring/back) should return, but Lee Wood (knee) is doubtful. Owen Ball (hamstring) was expected to resume training last night.
