Light claims first league win

GARY Light picked up his first three points for Bexhill Town in a thrilling 4-3 win over Ansty Rangers at The Polegrove on Saturday.

The hosts drew first blood with Ross Osborne delivering an accurate free-kick to Richard Anderson who promptly scored his fourth goal in three games.

Del Longley picked out Nick Light s run and he coolly slipped the ball past the keeper for 2-0. When Ray Bage claimed the third the game looked all but over.

A disputed Aghie penalty gave Ansty a lifeline but Bage restored the three-goal lead from a tight angle.

Osborne then missed a penalty but soon after Dave Browning saved one at the other end.

Ansty took control of the second half and scored two goals in quick succession, but a man of the match display from Browning kept the lead intact.

A series of missed chances cost Bexhill dear as they lost 2-0 away to Newhaven on Boxing Day.

Pete Cooper, Mark Ransom, Richard Anderson and Tony Wood all had good opportunities, but second half goals from Flynn and Wingate consigned the visitors to defeat.
