Large crowds at Angerming Raceway thrilled by action

WOULD be stunt drivers thrilled the large crowd at Angmering raceway (www.ovalraceclub.co.uk) on Bank Holiday Monday August 31st as driver after driver attempted to jump over a line of old cars, only to plummet from the sky and add to the wreckage on the floor.

While most would consider this an act of Top Gear style macho car wrecking, 16 year old Samantha Oldfied-Townshend disproved that notion with a fantastic jump that cleared the whole line of cars. Alas, she was beaten for the trophy by 529, Steven Penfold, who cleared the cars and landed a little further than Sam to claim the prize. Special mention must go to 231 Steven Turner whose crash absolutely flattened his car and 646 Chris Kirkwood, who lived up to his 'Doctor Dangerous' nickname with a massive jump and crash.

On terra firma there were wins in the finals for 96. Leon Boarer in the Junior Production cars, 200 and Jamie Mills in the Junior Rods. In the Hot Rod formula the honour went to 417, Helen Blackman with 130 Dan Cook taking the top spot in the car wrecking nudge and spin banger class.
