Joint-boss Donnelly delighted to reach final

SHOREHAM Football Club joint-manager Darren Donnelly is looking forward to the John O'Hara Cup final after his side's win over Crawley Down on Wednesday.

Rob Boddy's penalty four minutes into extra-time gave Mussels a 1-0 win over division-lower Crawley Down, and Donnelly said: "It was tough and we made hard work of it at times.

"We started to get frustrated and began rushing things.

"Crawley Down worked hard and kept going and we knew it would be a tough match, because they won here at Three Bridges earlier in the competition. And they always looked dangerous from set-pieces.

"We lost our discipline again, like we did at Hailsham and that's something we'll clamp down on.

"Mark Burt was tremendous and pulled us together. His experience told, and so too did Darren Annis' when he came on.

On the final, Donnelly said: "We'll all look forward to it. But Ringmer are a quality side and will start as favourites."

Shoreham defender Dan Jordan added: "It was tough out there, and hard work.
