H&B on course for play-off

HASTINGS & Bexhill remain on course for second place in the Sussex League and a play-off after a 42-0 win over Rye.

H&B lie two points ahead of Crowborough in Division One of the rugby league. The two teams meet on March 1.

Tries from Tony Roche, Dave Milham, John Fairey, Nick Edmonds, Rob Sparkes and Ben Campbell made sure of a comfortable win, with the rest of the points coming from the boot of Paul Sandeman.

Assistant coach Rob Hamilton said: "We didn't play that well but the score was on paper, one that would look okay."

H&B are in friendly action until the league resumes with the Crowborough clash.
