Golds crash at Hassocks

LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club remain rooted to the bottom of the table after their heaviest defeat of the season on Saturday.

A stunning solo effort by Matt Amos, a Mark Sherrif hat-trick and a typically confident strike by Anthony Hibbert brought a convincing enough win for Hassocks but it could have been so much different had Andre Carioca's effort for Golds not come back off the post at 2-0.

That was Golds' best effort of the match, although Bruno Costa and Carioca had half-chances in the early exchanges.

Hassocks took the lead on 12 minutes. Chris Bron was the architect as he put Sherrif through to score off the underside of the bar.

It was 2-0, only 10 minutes later. Amos went on a strong run before cutting inside and scoring with a firm shot that Littlehampton keeper Jon Hendrick got his hands to but could not keep out.
