Funnell joins Lancers
LANCING have signed former Albion, Shoreham, Worthing and Three Bridges striker Simon Funnell from Oakwood. Boss Sammy Donnelly, with whom Funnell reunites, and not for the first time, announced: "Simon is a fantastic player and his signing is a massive boost to us."
And September striker signing Barry Leete hoisted Lancing up two places by scoring in his third successive match, although in a game on Saturday few will want to remember.
Storrington slightly shaded a first half where neither team wanted to take the initiative. But while Lancing struggled to make any impression going forward, Storrington were left to rue their missed chances after ex-Lancing man Dan Griffin twice headed wide from two great Steve Tasker crosses and Paul McMichael's 25-yarder flew unluckily too high.
