“I picked it up at the halfway line and I know I had other options but I am confident with my dropping and lucking I could cut in and shoot."

The former Hendon winger, who started his youth career at Arsenal, also praised the passion of the Gabriele Cioffi, who ran onto the pitch to celebrate with his players after their second goal.

He added: "I think he’s a great guy, everyone seems happy to play and work for him. He told us we have to be together and that’s what we are trying to do.

“It (the celebration) shows his passion and how much he wants us to do well and how much he wants to do well for the club.

“I like that and everyone can appreciate his passion. When you’re passionate, you’re more likely to do well so I think it’s going to be great for us."

Nathaniel-George backs the 'very nice and friendly' Italian to succeed at Crawley.

“He wants everyone to do well and be happy," he said.

“I think he can succeed and everyone believes in him. He’s come in with what he wants from us and it's very clear.

“He wants us to relax and be focused for the game. He’s very calm.
