United keeper recovering well

Good news for Hastings United fans is that Matt Armstrong-Ford expects to be fit for the FA Cup second round replay against Harrogate Town.

The tall goalkeeper was involved in three hefty challenges during the first meeting between the clubs last Saturday and was hobbling badly with an injured knee.

Armstrong-Ford’s right knee is thought to have popped out and straight back in again during his first coming together with Harrogate striker Paul Beesley, but an x-ray on Sunday morning and trip to a physio on Wednesday has revealed no ligament or tendon damage.

“I’m walking fine and just icing it whenever I can to get the swelling down,” said the Eastbourne-based 23-year-old. “I want to play Saturday (in the Ryman League Premier Division game at home to Concord Rangers).”
