The Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup third round tie has been postponed for a second time due to a waterlogged pitch after the forecast heavy rain arrived in Eastbourne this lunchtime.

The game should now be switched to The Salts, although Rye’s ground has been under water lately following the wettest January in more than a century. A rearranged date is yet to be announced, but the fixtures are well and truly stacking up for both clubs.

Rye, in fact, have played just three matches since mid-December as 10 of their last 13 scheduled fixtures have succumbed to the weather. The eventual winners are due to host Ryman Football League Division One South leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe in the quarter-finals.
