The Mussels welcome Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-21 side to Middle Road for a friendly, which kicks-off at 3pm.

Shoreham have already played three pre-season matches and have recorded one win, one draw and a defeat in the process.

They kicked off their friendly fixtures with a 3-3 draw against Southwick, then followed it with a 3-1 defeat against Haywards Heath, before a 4-2 victory over Langney Wanderers.

While all the fixtures have posed Louis’s side a number of problems, he admitted Albion will be their biggest test and said: “Saturday’s game will definitely be the toughest of our pre-season.

“It’s great that we can welcome them to Middle Road and test ourselves against that calibre of opposition.

“I think the original plan was for them to bring a full-strength under-21 side but that is not the case now.

“They will field a mixture of under-21s, under-18s and trialists, I believe.

“Whatever team they bring, it will be strong and will challenge my players.

“The most important thing for me is that we pose them some problems as well and give them a good game.

“Results in pre-season are not massive but we don’t want to be on the end of a big defeat.”

The Mussels boss is hopeful that a large crowd will gather at Middle Road for the contest.

He and a few others from the club have been visiting schools in the area to try to encourage youngsters to attend the game.

Louis believes a big attendance will be a massive bonus for his team and said: “It would be great if we can get a big crowd for the game.

“Brighton are well supported across the area and, hopefully, people will come out to watch us play them.

“I’m excited ahead of the game and it will be a big one for the club as a whole.”

Mussels will include new signings Melford Simpson, Dimitri Larin, Jermaine Bell, Medi Koroma and Terrel Miller in their squad.
