Strikes in each half from James Rowland and Fraser Lawrence ensured Upper Beeding sealed a 2-0 away victory.

Lawrence felt his side’s final ball let them down against a well organised Beeding team.

He said: “They came with a game plan and it worked.

“I’d say we had about 75 per cent possession but that final ball was lacking.

“I think we could have been playing for five hours and still not have scored.

“We didn’t play badly, it was just a case of not having the quality in the final third.”

Clymping fell behind a minute before the break as Rowland crashed home a left-footed drive.

Lawrence’s side pushed for a leveller in the second half but they could not find a way through a well organised Beeding side.

Clymping’s hopes of getting back in the game were then ended as Fraser Lawrence thundered a strike into the top corner seven minutes from time.
