Frontman Tipper returns to Mullets

Arundel Football Club have re-signed prolific striker Scott Tipper.

The big frontman has re-joined Mullets after spending the first half of the season playing Ryman League football, where he has notched 10 goals.

Tipper, who netted 38 times for Arundel last season, joined Division 1 South side Worthing in the summer and has spent the last few months at their league rivals Horsham, where travel has become an issue.

Mullets boss Brett Torode is delighted to have the striker back at Mill Road and back “home”. He said: “It’s brilliant news, you only have to see the difference in goals the side have scored this year to last, we’ll be a better side with him back.

“It’s a boost for the whole club. Travelling at Horsham was getting him down and his missus is due in three weeks, so he wants to be closer to her.

“The fact he’d have to travel to Horsham three times a week and then some midweeks in London, all those things were a factor.

“I said when he left we wish him all the best and I think he really missed the club. We missed him and he looks at home here.”

On recapturing Tipper, along with recently signing the experienced Mike Huckett and Tony Timms, Torode added: “I’m really pleased with how it’s coming on. We are playing nice stuff.

“Tony, Mike and Scott are all really experienced players and will help the youngsters come on. I am really looking forward to the rest of the season now.”
