Eastbourne Town return to winning ways but Horsham maintain lead at the top with away victory at United

Eastbourne Town still have a very slim chance of winning the Southern Combination Premier title as they returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 victory at Horsham YMCA last Saturday.

Town took the lead at Gorings Mead on 23 minutes through Callum Sherriff and Wesley Tate doubled the advantage on 45 minutes. Jason Taylor made it three just after the break and Brett Patton completed the scoring with an 85th minute fourth.

John Lambert’s Town side are second in the table on 85 points. They are three points behind leaders Horsham who have a game in hand on Eastbourne Town.

Town have just two games of the season remaining and this Saturday they welcome mid table side Broadbridge Heath to the Saffrons. Their final game of the season will see them travel to Lancing at Culver Road on April 23.
