Drummy wants to make the most of being at home against Doncaster

Crawley Town head coach Dermot Drummy is looking for his side to get back to their energetic best when they host League 2 leaders Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

He does not fear taking on the bigger teams and pointed to Reds' 1-1 draw away at Rovers in August.

The former Chelsea U19s manager also highlighted examples of lower teams overhauling the higher teams in the division earlier this week.

Drummy said: "It is possible to beat the big sides. We need to start with an energy.

"Doncaster are flying and are probably a very big club with big resources and they will stand the test of time.

"We played really against well first half and the second half ended up with a credible draw.

"They will play football, they are a good side, they are flying. We've got to nullify that.

"We've got to have our energies right. On Tuesday Plymouth (0-1 to Notts County) and Carlisle (1-0 to Cheltenham Town) lost, so it is possible to beat big teams.

"We have got to stay positive and that's is my job as the manager to keep everyone positive.

"We are improving, we are building, we are not making excuses, we are where we are because that's where we're at and we just have to work to improve."

Drummy said: “We have to make sure we turn home games into points.

“We have got the crowd behind us, we had a blip, we had another blip, this is where we are at – let’s be optimistic and we can push on, hopefully.”
