In addition to last season’s youth set-up including under-14 and under-15 sides, Bosham are pleased to announce an under-18 side will be introduced. This will provide a perfect platform and transition for youth players to progress through to senior football at Walton Lane.

A senior reserve team has been entered into the West Sussex League, with division two their hoped-for level.

This was a key component missing from last season’s campaign; Bosham were unable to provide some encouraging young players sufficient game time which meant they went to play for other teams and in turn left Bosham lacking in squad numbers.

A key announcement from Bosham first team manager Tony Hancock is the appointment of Jason Mines as assistant manager.

Hancock said: “I am very happy to announce that I will be adding Jason Mines to my staff as first team assistant manager for the new season.

“Jason will join the current first team staff including team lead coach Jim Harris. Combining with our existing younger players, the fresh new faces that Jason will bring to the club and our more experienced players we have the ambition and potential of developing a title challenging team.”

Mines has many years of playing experience at a senior level playing in the top divisions of the County Leagues for teams such as Chichester, who he played for in the FA Cup aged 16, Wick; Sidlesham and Pagham.

Mines said: “I am very excited to be joining the management team at Bosham and I can’t wait to get started.”

These are exciting times for the club, who by their own admission fell below the high standards they have set themselves last season. They will be keen to win silverware in 2020-21 and develop young players to build for the future.

It is a great time for new sponsors to get on board at Bosham FC.
