Albion go into the game one place and four points behind the Gunners, and have drawn their last three top flight matches.

The Graham Potter’s men picked up a point on their travels against West Ham in their last outing, but haven’t won a game since they beat Aston Villa in late November.

By contrast, Mikel Arteta’s struggling side ended a dire run of seven Premier League matches without a win with a stunning 3-1 victory over Chelsea in their last match, and Lawrenson believes that the momentum of that performance can help to carry them through on the south coast tonight.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “Brighton are this season's draw specialists with seven so far, and four of them have come in their past six games.

“The Seagulls are playing some nice football, but they don't score enough goals. That's why they are in trouble at the bottom of the table.

Arsenal are only one place above them, in 15th, but I'm expecting their win over Chelsea to be the start of a good run for the Gunners. They should have some belief back now, for starters.”

Lawrenson has predicted a 2-1 defeat for the Seagulls.

Brighton are unbeaten in their last five clashes against Arsenal, and picked up six points against the Gunners last season.

Both matches ended in 2-1 wins for Albion, with Neal Maupay scoring a last minute winner in their most recent meeting back in June.
