FOOTBALL: Wick lift Brighton Charity Cup

WICK Football Club lifted the Brighton Charity Cup last night (Thursday) after a 3-0 victory over Ringmer.

Wick claimed the silverware in an entertaining final at Worthing's Woodside Road ground thanks to goals from George Gaskin (two), and a late strike from substitute Scott Murfin, which took his total to 41 for the season.

Wick captain Neil Murfin said: "It's a great end to a mixed season, and after the disappointment of the RUR Cup, to win a trophy is great."
