Farnes try helps Sussex through
WORTHING Rugby Club's Matt Farnes and Louis Kirchell were in Sussex action during the 20-13 victory at Wareham in the County Championship Plate.
Kirchell was on the blindside flank and Farnes on the right wing, where he scored one of the three tries that took Sussex past Dorset & Wiltshire into the semi-finals as the best runners-up among the three pools.
They now travel to play Durham at Hartlepool Rovers FC on Saturday (3pm), while Eastern Counties play the winner of Sussex's pool, Hampshire. Sussex or Durham, whoever wins, will host the final because Twickenham is in use for the Churchill Cup.
