Duo scoop scholarships
SUSSEX Cricket Club stars Ben Brown and Will Beer have been named in the new £1m ECB Scholarship Scheme.
The four-year scheme will for the first time provide central funding for leading youngsters to play club and grade cricket overseas. Brown (19) and Beer (20) were selected in the 19-to-21-year age group and are currently playing in Tasmania.
The initiative enables them to receive funding, as well as give them the opportunity to play grade cricket and attend academies in Australia.
Brown said: "I'm extremely grateful to the ECB for providing us with the extra funding to create such excellent opportunities.
