Duffy at the double for Blues

RUSTINGTON returned to top spot in Division 3 after a convincing performance at Loxwood on Saturday.

Although the scoreline suggests it was close, Blues' winning margin should have been much larger with the amount of chances they created and missed.

Including their Division 3 Cup penalty shoot-out win, it was their 26th consecutive win and they are now unbeaten in 29 matches. In their last 38 matches in all competitions, they have lost only twice.

Ryan Walton blazed an early effort over before he had a penalty appeal waved away and strike-partner, Andy Smart, also went close for Rustington in the first half. Loxwood, against the run of play, would have snatched a half-time lead, though, had keeper Andy McCarthy not made a brave save at the feet of a Loxwood striker.
