Bloor puts Davis into striker mix

DANNY DAVIS looks set to start the new season as a potential striker instead of filling the midfield role in which he has become a Woodside favourite.

The team to be chosen to start the new Ryman League season on Saturday is was pondering on its striker content.

The perm was between proven scorer Stafford Browne, new signing Byron Harrison, the unproven 19-year-old from Havant & Waterlooville, Andy Alexander the big man, Tom Lawley the Rebels youth player, and now Davis.

Manager Danny Bloor elaborated: "Danny in contention because he covers the ground well and it's a way to ease Danny's worries about defensive duties, which are perhaps not his best asset."
