SO ARUNDEL'S FA Vase road has ended in East Yorkshire. But - in all honesty - had you offered Mullets manager Mike Rowland a place in the last 32 of a national competition at the start of the season, then he would have accepted it gladly.
There was no doubt that Arundel's lack of match sharpness was a key factor. They had not played since Boxing Day during which period Bridlington had played twice and that definitely showed in a first half dominated by the Northern Counties League side.
Within two minutes, Craig Burdick unleashed a drive from 20 yards which flashed off the top of the Arundel bar and away to safety. But the assault hadn't yet started.
Brid striker Jamie Richards was denied three times in the space of five minutes from giving his side the lead.
