Yellow lines for busy Littlehampton road
COUNCILLORS are being recommended to approve parking restrictions on a busy Littlehampton road in spite of six objections from residents.
Traffic congestion and obstruction caused by parking on both sides of Lyminster Road between the Morrisons roundabout and the level crossing led to county highways officials drawing up plans for the restrictions, which were advertised and put out for consultation last year.
The proposed restrictions, banning all parking around the junctions of side roads, and limiting day time parking along stretches of Lyminster Road, drew six objections from people living in the area.
However, an officer’s report to the meeting of the Joint East Arun Area Committee on Tuesday next week says the scheme should be approved as the overall benefits outweigh the objections.
