Yapton gets a spruce-up

Two skiploads of rubbish have been removed from a Yapton road.

The mass of vegetation and dumped items was taken away from Cobham Close after a day of action. Graffiti was also cleaned up.

Arun District Council led the effort with about 15 people taking part on Friday, July 6. Representatives from West Sussex County Council, Yapton Parish Council, Servite Housing and Sussex Police joined in.

Arun street scene co-ordinator Dan Cox said: 'It was a really useful day. We had a lot of good comments from people.'

The day of effort followed a street briefing in the area by various authorities in which one of the biggest concerns raised was the state of the road.
