Worthing College appoints new principal

Following the departure of principal Peter Corrigan, Worthing College has appointed Paul Riley, the current vice-principal, as his temporary replacement.

As previously reported, Peter Corrigan will be leaving the college at the end of August this year.

Steven Foden, the current assistant principal for teaching, learning and assessment, will step up as vice principal.

According to a college spokesperson, both appointments are made on an interim basis.

During the next academic year governors will put arrangements in place for the recruitment of a permanent principal.

Paul Amoo, Chair of Governors, said: “Governors are very pleased with the interim arrangements and succession strategy put in place from next year.

“We are delighted that Paul and Steven have agreed to lead the college working with governors, staff and students, in achieving our goals and ensuring the best possible opportunities and successes for everyone.

“Their skills and experience within further education, make them ideally suited for these roles; they are both passionate about Worthing College and fully understand the needs of our students and staff making them the ideal candidates to take the college to outstanding.

“Governors look forward to working with Paul, Steven and the whole college community to continue the journey to become an outstanding college.”
