The new 'modern' branch will reopen at Whitehawk Road Post Office, 1B-2B Whitehawk Road, Brighton on Thursday, March 8 at 1pm.

The branch will be closed for refurbishment from midday on Wednesday, March 7, when customers are advised to use nearby post offices at Whitehawk Avenue and St George's Road.

Peter Wilkinson, Post Office Area Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

"This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

At the new-and-improved branch, the Post Office said services will be provided from three counters – two full-screened and one Post Office serving point at the retail counter, offering selected services.

The main counters will be open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm, and the Post Office service points will be open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6pm and on Sunday from 9am to midday.
