NEWS FROM OUR NEIGHBOURS: Sedlescombe & District Garden Society (SDGS) still have some tickets left for “An Evening with Tom Hart Dyke” on Wednesday 16th March 2016. TV personality Tom Hart Dyke, heir to the family seat of Lullingstone Castle in Eynsford, Kent will be giving an illustrated talk on his vast horticultural experiences. Tom is an English horticulturist, author and plant hunter who presented an episode of The Great British Garden Revival shown on BBC2 in 2013. He created the World Garden of Plants located at Lullingstone which contains approximately 8,000 species of plants, many collected by Tom from their native environments. The story of the creation was featured in a BBC2 6-episode series “Save Lullingstone Castle” in 2006. The event will be free for SDGS members but non-members are welcome at a cost of £5.00 per person. (N.B. an annual family membership to the Society only costs £10.00 so why not join and take advantage of a full and varied programme of events for 2016)
