Westergate Community School to host meeting of the Joint Downland Area Committee

WESTERGATE Community School will host the next meeting of the Joint Downland Area Committee, which incorporates the Downland County Local Committee.

And people who turn up at 6pm on Monday, October 5 '“ an hour before the meeting at the school in Lime Avenue, Westergate '“ can talk to the committee members.

They can also put questions to representatives from the Arun Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, West Sussex County Council Fire and Rescue Service and the Rural Development Programme for England, and view stands showing their activities.

Downland County Local Committee chairman Christina Coleman said: "The 'talk with us' session beforehand will give residents, committee members and guests the chance to mingle informally and ask any questions they've not had the chance to ask in previous meetings.

"By having individual stands, people will have the opportunity to talk to each one in turn and discuss any points of specific interest."

The meeting will discuss community initiative funding grants, Ford eco-town, health and welfare, highways and transport, and appointment of council school governors.
