A crane was used to remove the bridge, which was taken away to be refurbished and repaired before being returned to the station.

It was captured by photographer Eddie Mitchell, who spent several hours watching the work take place as the bridge was dismantled and taken away.

The railway line along the Sussex coast was closed all weekend to allow engineering works to take place, and the removal of the bridge coincided with this.
