The eight-year-old German shepherd takes time to get to know new people, but with the help of her trainer, she is shaping up to be a loving dog.

Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “Rio has lots of love to give and will make a very loyal pet.

“She will, however, need to be the only dog in the home so that she can lap up all her owner’s attention.

“She is also looking for a single adult-only home with no visiting children as she struggles to share her love.”

The new owner will need to continue her basic training and give Rio time to settle into her new home.
