Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager, said: “He is a sensitive boy and looking for a quiet adult home without visiting children. He would like one or two people at home so he can form a strong trusting bond with them.

“New owners will need to visit the centre multiple times to make friends with Bertie as he is worried of new people at first. Once he knows you, he will be a true friend, so it will be worth the extra visits.”

Bertie could live with a dog, preferring females, but cannot live with caged animals.
