UPDATE: Police identify man who died at Arundel crash site

POLICE have named the man who died following a crash at Arundel railway station on Saturday (March 1), as Dr Timothy Elliott, of Littlehampton.

Dr Elliott, 68, of Middle Mead, had been driving his blue Fiat Doblo when he hit a ticket machine at the exit of the station’s car park.

Paramedics fought valiantly for more than an hour to resuscitate him. However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said that Dr Elliott had a medical episode while driving the car, moments before the crash.

She added his death was of natural causes.

A five-year old girl from West Lavington, in Wiltshire, who was the passenger in the car at the time, suffered a slight head injury.
