Police helicopter called to Broadbridge Heath in hunt for suspected car thieves

A police helicopter scoured Broadbridge Heath and the surrounding Horsham area in a hunt for two suspected car thieves.

Police said officers spotted a reported stolen car in Horsham Road, Crawley, in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 29).

The car was believed to have been taken from an address in south London and was pursed by officers until it was ditched in Broadbirdge Heath. Police said the two occupants then ran off.

Residents say they were woken by the police helicopter which was heard circling the village at around 6am and many also spotted a police dog unit in the area.

Police said two men, aged 25 and 28, from south London were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.

The pair were interviewed and have been released under investigation.
