They've got a ticket to ride ...

PSYCHEDELIC images of the Sixties are to re-appear on the roads as Stagecoach has launched a new timetable for its number 60 bus.

The flower-powered buses will travel down the same route as before, but the frequency of them will double between Chichester and Bognor bus stations. This will mean a bus will come every 15 minutes.

Stagecoach hopes the hippy, multi-coloured buses will encourage more people to use public transport and reduce pollution in the environment.

Andrew Dyer, the regional managing director at Stagecoach, said he was confident the new livery on the 60 route buses will catch the eye. "With slogans 'Saving Money is Always In Fashion' and 'Be Groovy '“ Be Green' our message is very colourful but clear," said Mr Dyer.

"We have also ensured that all the single and double-decker buses will be comfortable with low floor access, making travel easier for passengers with shopping and for parents with baby buggies."

The number 60 bus stops at Midhurst, Summersdale, Chichester, Pagham, Bognor Regis and Elmer. Timetable and route details for the 60 service are available from the Stagecoach website or call 0871 200 22 33.
