The Bring Your Teddy to Church event, which was part of Family Support Work’s fundraising Teddy Bears Weekend, included a teddy bears’ picnic.

Churchwarden Julie Gates explained: “The teddies were invited along to help raise vital funds for Family Support Work, a Sussex-based charity which works in partnership with the Diocese of Chichester to support children and families through difficult times in their lives.

“Free and confidential support is offered to parents or carers and their children, including anyone who has responsibility for the care of children, whether they are married, single, separated, partners, divorced, bereaved or grandparents.

“The support offered may be by helping to overcome the challenges presented by a physical or mental illness, or working with parents or carers to resolve unemployment or debt problems. Sometimes it is to support a child to enable them to stay in mainstream education or simply to help a child and family who are finding times difficult.”

The charity was founded 125 years ago and works across Sussex. Visit www.familysupportwork.org for more information.
