Teachers put in the stocks

Three teachers at Heathfield Community College were soaked in a sponsored sponging session in aid of Comic Relief on Friday.

English teacher Andrew Brooke, biology teacher Nick Cook and head of Year 10 Chris Sherwood spent ten days securing sponsorship in a bid to save themselves from the stocks.

The one who raised the least amount of money was set to be the one to get wet but they were all so delighted with the amount raised that they agreed to share the punishment.

The total was boosted when students paid 1 for the chance to throw a sponge and 160 was raised for the charity.

The event was organised by Year 13 student Jon Parker who praised technology department technician Sean Stidder who built the stocks.
