Supermarket and school work to start

Work, which will see a new primary school and Tesco supermarket built in Hailsham, begins next week (March 26).

One of the first steps needed to get the project underway is to divert the start of the footpath that runs from the beginning of Marshfoot Lane to Harebeating Lane.

The diversion will provide access to the footpath through the Council's Vicarage Lane car park, enabling the new school to be built on the site at Marshfoot Lane.

The construction company, Kier, will need to access the Council's Vicarage Lane car park and a number of car parking spaces will be lost during the work.

The new school will replace White House School in North Street which will form part of the new Tesco supermarket site.
